INTRODUCTION:

Nurture Roots Foundation works to empower and uplift disadvantaged communities through education, skill development, and community building.

Our latest project, Support JAMB 2024 Sponsorship, was designed to address financial barriers faced by aspiring students to register for the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) Examination.

We at Nurture Roots Foundation are happy to share the outcomes of this Sponsorship Initiative. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to all our donors whose support has made this initiative possible; we couldn't have done this life-changing initiative without you.

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The JAMB 2024 Sponsorship Initiative was launched to address the difficulties faced by young Nigerians in accessing higher education due to financial constraints. The initiative opened its application process in February 2024, and within two days, we received an overwhelming response, with over 60 applications. Unfortunately, due to resource limitations, we had to close the application process and select 35 deserving candidates for sponsorship.

IMPLEMENTATION STRATEGY:

To ensure transparency and accountability, each sponsored candidate was accompanied by our representative to their registration centre. This approach not only verified the genuine need of the applicants but also facilitated the registration process. Registration evidence, which includes receipts and images for each sponsored candidate, was documented.

The sponsorship provided mock tests for certain candidates who previously lacked experience with computers. These mock exams proved particularly beneficial in familiarizing these students with the computer-based testing format prior to the actual exams.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

We are pleased to report that all 35 sponsored candidates successfully registered for the JAMB examination, which commenced on April 19, 2024. The results, released on April 29, 2024, highlighted the success of our initiative, with the top five sponsored students achieving impressive marks of 206, 200, 195, 189, and 181 respectively.

This achievement is a testament to the impact of collective action in breaking down barriers to education and empowering young Nigerians to pursue their academic aspirations.

Nurture Roots Foundation remains committed to expanding our impact in the realm of education. We plan to undertake more sponsorship initiatives, accompanied by comprehensive mentorship, coaching, and progress tracking for our sponsored candidates. Our goal is not only to support promising and deserving students through the examination process but also to guide them on their educational journey as they seek to make a big difference in their lives and that of others.
